In 2002 my place was broken into and all of my instruments were stolen, along with my laptop, a brand-new iPod (state of the art, baby) and some cash. I literally didn’t know what to do. My insurance company wouldn’t cover my loss because there was no sign of forced entry & every time I tried to call and argue my case I just felt more defeated. It wasn’t long before I realized I’d been given an opportunity to SIMPLIFY. When it came time to figure out what ONE guitar would replace the 5 that were just taken from me, I landed on this 1992 @collingsguitars D1 I found at @cottenmusic here in Nashville.
She holds a ton of stories, and once again this fall will help me tell some, too. Come say hello (to both of us) starting this weekend in Ann Arbor, Milwaukee, and Chicago. The rest of the dates are linked in the bio and there’s more to come. #keepgoing

It was the year 2000, and the fall of my senior year at the University of Illinois when my friend and bandmate @steffenstudio turned me on to @JohnMayer. He had heard him on an episode of Real World or something and apparently @MTV had gotten so many inquiry’s about the song that they added a banner to their website that said ‘The song on Real World is John Mayer, check him out here:’ A few months later, I was in Nashville on my spring break recording Somedays. The drummer my producer had secured to play on my album had a good friend named @mdmango who plays bass and had gone to Berkely with John and was living with him in Atlanta. Matt agreed to come play on my sessions and I was in heaven. That same week I learned that John was playing at Vanderbilt at the Sarratt Student center. My life was made. The night before i was to go back to college, I saw a very new John Mayer play for 50 of us at the Pub on campus. The rep from Aware was there with a sleeve of ‘Inside Wants Out’- I think I bought one for 10 bucks. After the show, I invited John to come by the studio to hang while @mdmango laid down his bass parts.
Oh, to be 20 and fearless.
Tonight, I watched @JohnMayer play to a sold out @bridgestonearenaofficial in Nashville. Full circle, nearly 20 years later, he still inspires. Still connects.
I’m going to keep going. I may not play for 20,000 a night, but you better believe I’m I’m grateful for the 200 of y’all that show up and sing along.
See ya this fall, y’all.
