Leeland Lane Worktape

This is easily my favorite lyric I’ve ever written. I began writing this song with my friend Steve Wilson. We left the day of our write not having a compelling chorus. I later called Thad Cockrell to see what his instincts were for the chorus, and voila! Finished song. People joke that While We’re Becoming was my depressed record, and it’s kinda true. There’s a weight to it that’s tangible, but I really love how the project turned out, and this song is the cornerstone in my opinion.

*Steve Wilson was my Young Life leader in high school, then became both my main musical encourager as well as producer of both the Damascus Road (college band) album, and later, my first solo recordings, Somedays.
